Press release
dicto commits to hearing loss and elder care
NEWARK, Del. · August 11, 2026
BHB Technologies today announced a sharpened focus for dicto, its speech-display app for iPhone and iPad: clear conversation for people with hearing loss, and for the families, caregivers, and professionals around them.
dicto turns speech into large, clear text as you talk. A family member speaks; the words appear at the largest size that stays comfortable to read. The refocus is reflected in a rebuilt speechdisplay.com, now in thirteen languages including newly added Dutch and Traditional Chinese, presenting dicto for three audiences: families and caregivers, care homes and senior living, and hearing care professionals. Facilities can deploy dicto at volume through Apple Business Manager.
Privacy anchors the design. dicto uses no accounts, no ads, no tracking, and no cloud; conversations disappear when the app closes, and dictation runs fully on-device for nearly every supported language, a requirement dicto enforces rather than merely offers. For eldercare and patient care settings, there is no record to secure, no data to audit, and nothing to delete.
Founder Brent Burgess describes the mission behind dicto simply: "Making the tools that I developed to communicate better with my father accessible, and as high-quality as possible, to as many people as I can."
dicto is available on the App Store for $0.99, one time, with no subscriptions.
